We Give Thanks

I’m afraid my thoughts were not of gratitude when the final election results showed that Donald Trump had been elected President again. I was angry, depressed, frustrated, confused, fearful, and sad. I certainly was not in a joyful or grateful mood. But I turned to a book on my bookshelf that I refer to when I’m feeling down – “The Book of Joy” by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu. There’s a chapter entitled “Gratitude” and I felt that was more appropriate for a Thanksgiving service than my moaning and groaning over the election results. Arline will share the insightful thoughts of both the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu as we face an uncertain future.
