Seth Tichenor will be the speaker, topic “On Race, Recognition & Reconciliation”  What are the origins and role of institutional racism in our nation, how does that undermine us as a nation and the ideals (both political and spiritual) that we wish to pursue?  How might we think of our own “moral reconstruction”?

Seth is a Native Oregonian, former All-American swimmer, and lives in Astoria with his wife Gad.  He’s been a professor of philosophy for 23 years and teaches at Clatsop Community College where he was named Teacher of the Year in 2015.  Many of us have enjoyed his lectures/discussions at Ft. George’s “Ales and Ideas”.  Seth’s passion is the Philosopharian Project, an effort to bring philosophy into the lives of everyday people.

Child care is available during the service.

The monthly potluck lunch follows the service.
