On October 18, eight of our local celebrities will compete for charity in the first annual Dancing with the Clatsop County Stars! These local figures will be paired with professional dancers from the Utah Ballroom Dance Company and spend one week learning a routine that they’ll perform for the audience. Mayor Arline LaMear and one other local official will sit as guest judges and weigh in with their opinion, but the winners will ultimately be decided by the audience. Come see the show and cast your vote for which local celebrity will hold the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy!

Here are the dancers so far:

Norma Hernandez- WIC and a Leader in the local Hispanic community
Charlene Larson- Well known Music Educator
Howard Rub- Highschool Football Coach
Jason Schermerhorn- Chief of Police in Cannon Beach
Molly Pringle- Executive Director for The Harbor
Chris Breitmeyer- Clatsop Community College President (Will either dance or judge)

All proceeds benefit The Harbor, our local non-profit that supports survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Come out and support this vital resource as they raise money to benefit survivor services and their new confidential emergency shelter.
